Ghost Mode — Live Class View

How to use ghost mode to watch students code in real time during a class session

1

Open your class

2

Enter live class view

The platform is loading the live class environment, as indicated by the "Loading live class..." message in the center of the screen. This brief loading phase occurs when transitioning into the live coding session where you'll be able to monitor and interact with your students' work in real-time.

3

View student activity cards

Student activity cards appear on the left side of your screen, displaying each student's name, current status (like "RETURNED"), and real-time activity indicators. You can see at a glance whether students are actively working in their editor and use the "Watch" button to observe their coding progress live.

Watch a student

The live view window is loading as CodeDesk prepares to display a student's coding session in real-time. Once loaded, you'll be able to see exactly what the student is working on, including their code, cursor movements, and any changes they make to their project.
